Residential Mortgages - How much can I borrow?


This calculator has been designed to show the likely maximum amount that you might be able to borrow subject to a high credit score pass and demonstrating affordability. This is at the discretion of underwriters and may be much less or slightly more than the figures indicated. We suggest you deduct the annual cost of on-going credit commitments from the gross income of the higher earner as this is the calculation used by many lenders. Enhanced borrowings may sometimes be allowed where you agree to take a long term fixed rate product. Lending is subject to adequate security over the property and the maximum loan may be restricted to a percentage of the valuation
